I was 23 when I first decided that I needed to take care of my skin. This was the 4th sunscreen that I tried and the first one I liked. I was initially turned off by the price tag ( $39USD for 30mL), but after trying it on my neck I decided to try it. Previously, I'd tried 3 different lower priced sunscreen ( neutrogena, olay, dove) but none of them worked well for me. All 3 left me with stuffy white casts over my face that caused breakouts and they were also difficult to apply. Since that basically was ~ 30USD wasted on prior experiences, I decided that I was willing to pay the higher price tag for the Clarins Sunscreen if it works.
All I could say is that I fell in love with this sunscreen. It didn't leave me with a ugly white caste, but rather it seems to even out my skin tone. This is "the" sunscreen that got me into the habit of wearing sunscreen everyday. It's been 2 years since I first started using it and I'm on my 4th bottle ( I seem to go through a bottle every 4 months) . During these 2 years, I've also tried Shiseido's Anessa ( slightly less expensive, higher spf, spf 50) and Kanebo's Allie line ( about half the price, spf 50). While I liked both ( and both are higher spf and more cost-effective), I still find myself reaching for the Clarins one every morning. I'm slowly trying to switch myself to Kanebo's Allie ( for cost reasons) but I would still recommend Clarin's low mineral sunscreen for those in search of a light/effective sunscren. :)
